Celebrating Two Years of Caring For Those Who Care

As we celebrate our second anniversary, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks for your valued and unwavering support.

Our first year was an extraordinary journey of discovery and achievement. The second demonstrates our ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and service to help care for those who work tirelessly to care for others.

Detmold Medical is an innovative and fast-moving company, and I predict our next chapter will be equally exciting. I’m proud to share this snapshot of our team’s achievements and news from the past year below.

Warm regards,
Sacha Detmold Cox, CEO, Detmold Medical

Continuing Our Local Community Support

During COVID restrictions, our face mask donations to Adelaide’s Hutt St Centre helped protect volunteers while they provided sit-down meals, takeaway food packs, and support for people experiencing homelessness.

It was also our pleasure to assist AnglicareSA with a donation of face masks for their recent Employee Appreciation Festival – an event that acknowledged those who support 55,000 community members through some of their toughest times.

Establishing World-Class In-House Lab Testing Capabilities

In the past year, we established an in-house laboratory supporting our crucial role in sovereign PPE testing capabilities. The lab proudly houses a new PALAS PMFT 1000 high-level filter tester, enabling easier and immediate testing of particulate filtration efficiency and breathing resistance with extreme accuracy.

Daily testing enables us to validate and enhance our mask performance and fast-track approvals of new materials or designs ahead of external validation and testing by accredited laboratories.

Comprehensive Product Range Extensions

Detmold Medical recently introduced several new product lines, enabling wearers to find the best face mask for their environment of use.

The extended range focuses on performance, fit, and comfort and includes a D95 P2 Respirator Mask, Level 3 Surgical Mask, Level 2 Medical Procedure Face Mask and a 3-Ply Community Mask.

Our expanded range now comes in five sizes to ensure the best fit, and we have a range of N95 Surgical Respirator Masks coming soon!

Ongoing Collaboration With Flinders University

Our ongoing partnership with the Flinders University Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI) has been crucial in establishing and promoting Australia’s onshore capability to validate and test PPE performance to Australian Standards.

At the start of our partnership, we provided mask samples and shared results from external labs to help MDRI calibrate its machines. Today, we work with MDRI on product enhancements and share critical learnings to advance Australia’s position as a global leader in the growing medical devices market.

Andrew Good, our Design & Innovation Manager, recently presented at MDRI’s PPE seminar series to share our journey and knowledge. You can watch MDRI’s video featuring Detmold Medical here.

Supporting South Australia’s Back-to-School Initiative

When the South Australian Government announced mandatory mask-wearing in schools last July, Detmold Medical immediately responded with increased local production and supply. The ability to manufacture locally at speed demonstrates the unique and strong position Detmold Medical is in to support the community at short notice.
